Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. at Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church, 16970 DeWitt Avenue, Morgan Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morgan Hill Presbyterian Church.
Departed this world on March 26 at age 90. Served quietly, without asking for recognition. Generously donated his carpentry skills to his church and to myriad mission projects in the U.S. and Mexico.
During World War II, Malcolm served in the U.S. Navy. Afterward he married and helped raise three children in San Jose. Remarkably lucky, he became a carpenter and enjoyed that profession for more than forty years.
A devoted Giants fan, he enjoyed family and friends, hunting, fishing, as well as cross-country road trips with his twin brother to their birthplace in Morocco, Indiana. He also enjoyed gardening and raising quail, rabbits and chickens on his Morgan Hill homestead which he nicknamed “God’s Little Acre” (after Erskine Caldwell’s infamous novel).
Preceded in death by his loving parents, Dorothy and Forrest Tolin, brother Forrest Tolin Jr, sister Shirley Goddard, identical twin brother Marshall Tolin, and son Marc Tolin. Survived by his sister-in-law Dorothy Tolin, his daughters Nancy Tolin and Donna Schulz, and son-in-law Dave Schulz.
A kind and gentle man, Malcolm valued most highly using the gifts that God gave him to help people and to serve God. We shall miss him very much.
