Police Chief David Westrick and his family were awakened by the sound of an explosion and shaking early Friday morning at their Hollister home. With his wife and 11-year-old daughter in the Santa Ana Road house, Westrick ran toward the noise.

An adult male was stabbed to death outside Agua Azul Bar early Monday morning, according to the Hollister Police Department.

At around noon Thursday, Hollister police arrested a 20-year-old Hollister man at the skate park on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm in a public place and for a felony warrant alleging possession of marijuana for sale.
