FAILING TO REGISTER AS SEX OFFENDER:
Richard Bray, 55, of 384 Nash Rd. in Hollister, was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, a felony, after a Hollister police officer pulled him over for a traffic stop and discovered he had not registered in three years, police said. The last city Bray had registered in was Modesto, police said.
POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE:
Mark Steven Collision, 45, of 1580 Albright Dr. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police for possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, in the 700 block of Seventh Street at 2:10pm on Sunday.
Hugo Mendiola, 27, of 744 Central Ave. in Hollister, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, in the 900 block of Del Rio Drive at 9:45pm on Saturday.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:
Matthew Menzel, 36, of 485 Sixth St. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police in the 400 block of Sixth Street for domestic violence, a felony, after he allegedly hit a female he has a relationship with at 1:20am on Saturday, police said.
Larry Smith, 39, of 61 Ortiz Ct. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police in the 700 block of San Felipe Rd. at 2:30pm on Thursday for domestic violence, a felony, after he allegedly hit a female he had a prior relationship with, police said.
BURGLARY:
Jose Edwardo Garcia, 33, of 1575 Valley View Rd. in Hollister, was arrested by Hollister police at 6pm on Saturday in the 1500 block of Valley View Road for burglary, a felony, and felony parole violation, after a resident came home and found him inside their apartment stealing miscellaneous things from their residence, police said.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE:
Jose Otillo Lopez, 25, who lives in the 100 block of McCarthy Street in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license for driving under the influence, misdemeanors, at 2:17am at Hazel and Sally streets on Sunday.
Freddy Richard Martinez, 49, who lives in the 500 block of Verona Place in Hollister, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence, a misdemeanor, on Highway 25, north of Highway 156, at 2:24am on Saturday.
Frank Norris Smith, 47, of 1521 Versailles Dr. in Hollister, was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs, a misdemeanor, in the 1500 block of Versailles Drive at 7:57pm on Saturday.
Teddy Leon, 46, a transient, was arrested by Hollister police in the 500 block of Virginia Dr. at 9:30am on Friday for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, misdemeanors, and misdemeanor battery to a police officer after he spit on the officer arresting him, police said.
All persons named are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
