July 27, in Stockton at the age of 55.

Former Hollister resident Susan Hassman Gorrell died Sunday, July 27, in Stockton at the age of 55.

Living in various places, Gorrell moved to Hollister where she taught in the San Juan Bautista School District for 13 years. After that, she taught in Stockton. She loved to travel, gamble and shop.

Gorrell is survived by sons Michael Toledo of Elk Grove, Cailf., and Bryan Toledo of San Anselmo; daughter-in-law Jennifer Palmquist Toledo; father John Hassman; and cousins Mike, Tom and Tim Hudson and Lynne Prettiman.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 31, at the Morris Chapel at the University of the Pacific, where Gorrell graduated and worked.

Memorials can be made to a hospice or the American Cancer Society.
