Ten students from Hollister are among some 140,000 nationwide who have been named to the 25th annual edition of the National Dean’s List for 2001-02.

Students are selected by their college deans, registrars or honor society advisors and must be in the upper 10 percent of their class, on their school’s dean’s list or have earned a comparable honor. Listed students are eligible to compete for $50,000 in scholarship awards funded by the publisher.

Hollister students on the list are: Brandon Adams, Joann Avina, Michael Snyder (Gavilan College); Sonia Shackleford, Mary Stewart (Hartnell College); Daniel Recht (De Anza College); Natalie Cochran (Columbia Union College); Alberto Gutierrez (San Jose State University); Amelia Urban (UC Santa Cruz); Marissa Alnas (UCLA).
