Long-time Hollister resident
Long-time Hollister resident Theresa D’Agostino died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003 at Southside Convalescent Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 93.

Mrs. D’Agostino was born in Sicily and had lived in Hollister since 1960. Before moving here she and her late husband were truck farmers in the Berryessa area of San Jose. She was a homemaker all her adult life and enjoyed cooking, sewing, tending her vegetable garden and spending time with her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Salvatore and Nancy D’Agostino of Hollister and Sebastian and Ricci D’Agostino of San Jose; her daughter, Tina Bertuccio of Hollister; her brothers, Angelo Veneziano of Minden, Nev. and Art, Joe and Salvatore “Tillie” Veneziano, all of Waterbury, Conn.; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Adriana Helt, her friend and caregiver for more than 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gasper D’Agostino; her sisters, Josephine Ventura, Lena Bruno, Mary Noble and Lucy Scalo; and her grandson, Salvatore D’Agostino.

Private services were held today at the Calvary Cemetery mausoleum chapel, officiated by Father Richard Clark. Entombment followed in the family crypt.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home.
