Resident of Fremont
Ednamae Lewis passed away at the age of 99. A proud native of San Francisco, Ednamae was the eldest of three children born to Aemon and Edna McSweeney. The family moved to Redwood City, CA, where Ednamae graduated from Sequoia High School. In Redwood City, Ednamae met, and married, Gaylord Lewis, and it is where their daughter, Gayle, was born. In 1947, the family moved to Hollister, CA, where Ednamae would reside until Gaylord’s passing in 1997. She then moved to Fremont, CA, to be closer to family.
Ednamae cared for her husband and daughter and always saw the best in everyone. She took great pride in her family, loved to read, and was a beacon of happiness to everyone she met. Ednamae’s love for life, and her faith, made her a joy to be around. Our “Little Grandma” will be sorely missed.
Ednamae is survived by her daughter Gayle and son-in-law, Robert G. Mallon; Grandchildren Anne Mallon Holmdahl (Todd) and Robert L. Mallon; Great-Grandson Eric and Ryan Holmdahl; and her brother, William McSweeney.
A Funeral Mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
