Court Preview: Diaz faces sentencing in cemetery slaying

Several relatively prominent cases are in court Thursday. That is when Jorge Diaz, who accepted a plea deal in a homicide case, is scheduled for a sentencing. The Diaz sentence hearing is set for 9 a.m. Thursday in courtroom 101 at the San Benito County Courthouse.

Officers seek help in Safeway beer theft

Hollister Police officers are investigating a theft of beer from Safeway that allegedly occured on Feb. 3. They received  a report of an Hispanic male entering the store at 591 Tres Pinos Road around noon. The man picked up two 18 packs of Corona beer from a display and walked toward the exit. A store employee confronted the man who continued to leave the store without paying.

Minor accident slows traffic on Tres Pinos Road

An accident involving two passenger cars on Tres Pinos Road closed the eastbound lane near Gold's Gym as emergency personnel worked to assess those involved for injuries and clear the roadway.

The Hollister Police Department is looking for two suspects in a theft of alcohol that occurred on Jan. 20 at the Quickstop Store on San Felipe Road and North Street.

Hollister police allege murder, find San Jose man in home with body
